great product December 12, 2003 62 out of 67 found this review helpful
firstly whoever said in their review that this item was "not recommended by public safety officials" and then instead recommended a "rug pad" is giving false information. I have had seats with this exact protector in for a checkup and both times the inspector thought this item was an "excellent addition" and would actually help keep the seat in place by reducing the seat sag and upolstery stretching which happens without it! A rug pad is a silly suggestion. If you know anything about infant seats and boosters you know your seat is not held in any way, shape, or form by friction from the base, but by the belts and latches. you could oil yuor leather seats and it wouldn't harm the car seat's safety. what does harm your car seat safety is loosing of the belts caused by slow crushing of the cars' seat bolstering and this prevents it more than a towel or a "rug pad"! now onto the utility. this protector is the only one we have seen or used that is firm enough to reduce permanent depressions in a the car's seat and with a lip that does a good job at catching liquid and crumbs. If you have several messy kids you are better off getting a custom $150 to $250 washable full cover. Short of that, this item is affordable, offers great protection and is easy to use. it works great on benches or buckets. Lastly a "rug pad" is a very uninformed suggestion. rug pads bleed color. sounds like a good way to stain your seats over time.

We just purchased two of these to protect the leather seats in our new conversion van. Previous reviewers mentioned a velcro problem. The company must have redesigned these recently. Ours have a strip of velcro along the width of the top and bottom pieces. In addition, the middle portion has a half-circle of velcro 8-10 inches long. The velcro held strong when the car seat was tightened. There was no problem using this pad with the LATCH system or the coventional seatbelt method. The pad is thick and appears very durable with sides that have "walls" to contain any spills. If I had to list a con, the depth is not quite long enough for the pad to bend over the front of our third row's bench seat (it does come right to the end to protect where lil' ones rest their feet). But, this is the type of seat that converts to a bed and is deeper than conventional bench seats. This pad covers the captains chairs easily and I'm confident it would cover standard bench seats just fine. Overall, it was an inexpensive solution to protect the seats from spills and indentations. I would highly recommend purchasing this two stage protector!!!

I got this product for my 2000 expedition leather seats. It has worked beautifully. I agree that it needs a non skid bottom to keep it from sliding, but that is easily fixed with a piece of non skid rug pad or shelf liner. The deep lip on the seat saver can hold a lot of liquid!! That is my favorite feature. This is a wonderful product and I reccomend it to anyone with a car seat.
Protects your seats February 29, 2004 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
I'm actually returning to buy an extra one. I originally bought it for my babies car seat but with the intention on testing it with a booster seat for my toodler. Works great on both! We just bought a new SUV and I'm convinced this will keep the seats like new for a long time. It has 3 things like I just love about it. One; it's wide and covers the whole individual seat (even the edge where a lot of footprints seems to go when a child is climbing into her/his seat). Two; has side walls to keep crumbs and liquid like it says. Three; very thick and durable. I highly recommend it and we have had many friends comment on it. Great buy!!!!!!!!

This is one of the best products I have seen for the car seat. I am very particular about my car and did not want the leather to get messed up. This product is the best and will prevent items from spilling onto the seat
