Editorial Review
When a child grows out of his car booster seat, he may still be too short to comfortably wear a seatbelt. Frequently kids weighing between 50 and 100 pounds will pull the shoulder strap off and behind them, a very unsafe practice that defeats the use of a seatbelt. The Deluxe Seatbelt Adjuster slides onto the car's seat belt and repositions the shoulder harness so that it rides across the shoulder properly, and not along the neck. The adjuster is thickly padded and has a soft suede-like cover that's surface washable. And it's not just for kids--short adults may want to try the adjuster as well, especially in older vehicles without adjustable shoulder harness mounts. --Terri Shea

As a short person I needed this to adjust the seatbelt so I can drive in comfort and safety.

5 out of 5 stars great for the smart car   June 30, 2009

I have a smart car and am not tall enough for the sear belt to hit in the right place this works great

4 out of 5 stars good idea   April 21, 2004

We have used these for all of our kids. They are not perfect but do work as advertised. My kids are smart enough to buckle and install the adjuster as needed.
As a chiropractor, I can see they do move the belt to the proper spot. They do protect the neck area.
Not perfect but better than nothing.

3 out of 5 stars Helped with Captain Chair style belts   November 23, 2001

While I would agree this is not the end all of car seat safety, it worked OK for us. However, it is difficult for the kids to do up the belt themselves with this attachment. It did solve my problem of the shoulder belt cutting into the neck area. Booster seats don't fit well with Captain's chairs, so it was better than nothing. The Other Safety 1st seat belt adjuster in two parts works much better! But it's not for kids under 50lbs. That one gets a higher rating from me.

1 out of 5 stars No replacement for a booster seat   August 15, 2001

This seat belt adjuster is no replacement for a federally certified booster seat. This adjuster does not keep the child correctly positioned in the adult seat belt system. If your child has outgrown their car seat, spend the few extra bucks and purchase a belt positioning booster. It will make the ride more comfortable and SAFER for your child.
