Editorial Review
The RollerShade gives your child year-round protection in the car by blocking out harmful UV rays. The shades can be attached to windows in two ways--to an open window with clips that hang on the edge of the top edge of the glass or with suction cups that adhere to the window itself. The shades are easy to install and can be raised with a push-button release. Though the shade itself is partially see-through, it may reduce driver visibility. This is a very good way to protect your children from the sun and has the added benefit of making a car trip on a bright day more comfortable on their eyes. --Jane Snyder

Product Description

5 out of 5 stars What's not to love?   May 21, 2002
This product does just what it is supposed to do. Be sure and notice how to roll it back up, however! There is a button on the side--it's not like a traditional window shade that you tug on.

4 out of 5 stars not so bad, it works   February 2, 2002

It works fine, and I like that it has 2 ways to install: either attach via an adhesive (which I don't like to do to my car's windows), or clip at the top of the windows. Another nice thing is: when you don't need the shades covering the windows (like at night), you can roll them up out of the way without having to detach altogether. They work. On the downside: they don't cover the windows fully. and when attached by the clips, the windows are open by a few millimeters and may create a slight wind noise when driving at higher speeds. Hardly noticeable, but worth mentioning per my husband. Despite those details, we feel they were worth it and don't regret buying them.

3 out of 5 stars not that bad   January 29, 2002
I was worried about this product after seeing some other reviews, however we bought this anyway and it has worked fine for us--although I agree they are not quite wide enough to block all of the window. The nice thing is that it has two options on how to attach to your window; we chose to just clip it on the top of the window instead of using the adhesive (I don't like the idea of using an adhesive on our windows). Because there is a slight increase in noise (of wind) when attached this way, we remove them sometimes when we're on long trips on the highway. When we don't need them (like at night time), I can easily roll them up out of the way. And the suction cups stick fine to the windows. So far I don't regret having purchased them.

3 out of 5 stars Not THEE best - but it does what it's suppose to!   May 15, 2002

My husband and I bought these blinds for our 6 month old son who is a little baby "vampire" (he hates bright light shining into his face). It didn't cover the whole window which stinks and the suction cups at the bottom didn't always stay on. I did like the fact that you can hit the button on the side and roll up the shade to get it out of the way at night. We still end up using the shade on the car seat or throwing the baby's blanket over him to block out the sun. All in all, it still does work to a certain extent.

2 out of 5 stars All Stuck Up or Not!   October 29, 2001

Please don't waste your money on this item! Especially if your car is equipped with a rear window defogger. The elements in the back windshield prevent the suction cups from sticking properly. Even worse, when the shade is installed, it is not wide enough. Seldomly does this item even block the sun from my baby's eyes. Try "One Step Ahead", they have three shades, one wide enough for the back window and two shades for the back side windows. The window shades from "One Step Ahead" also stay on the window.
