True Side Impact Protection and SecureGuard The Parkway SG Booster Seat is ideal for parents concerned with providing proper safety and posture-support for their children during car rides. Offering True Side Impact Protection, this seat delivers superior protection if you happen to face an unexpected side-impact accident. If such an event takes place, the solid head support and deep, side walls work efficiently to distribute crash forces, shield the child from vehicle intrusion, contain the head and body, and keep the head, neck, and spine aligned to limit injury. In addition, the Parkway SG features SecureGuard technology, which works with your vehicle's own safety belt. The SecureGuard clip holds the lap portion of the seat belt in place, preventing submarining--when a child slides under the lap belt--and reducing the risk of any abdominal injury. Superior 360-Degree Protection Features For even greater support, the Parkway SG offers an energy-absorbing EPS foam liner that provides additional cushioning. It's also designed with high-density comfort foam made with soft, padded materials that support your child's body to promote correct alignment in the booster seat and greatly enhance safety. These features make for a comfortable ride, even during long car trips. Easy-to-Use and Adaptable to Your Growing Child The simple, color-coded vehicle safety belt guides indicate the path and position of the vehicle safety belt, helping you properly secure your child in the Parkway SG every time. As your child grows, the head restraint adjusts easily for a comfortable, custom fit, while the removable back allows you to convert to a backless booster while keeping all of the safety features of the SecureGuard system. Fits Three Across with Convenient Accessories Ideal for larger families, owners of smaller cars, or caregivers of multiple children, the Parkway SG features a narrow footprint that allows you to fit three seats across in the back seat. The comfortable armrests and retractable, dual cup-holders provide extra touches that offer greater comfort to your child. Soft, Durable Materials and Easy to Clean Made from soft, durable materials, the booster seat's cover is easy to remove from the shell for cleaning and is available in a selection of subtle patterns, including Matrix, Onyx, Sesame, and Pink Sky. The Britax Parkway SG Booster Seat is backed by a limited one-year warranty. What's in the Box One Britax Parkway SG Booster Seat and manual.

Innovative design September 10, 2009 Dave (Portland) 23 out of 24 found this review helpful
Britax Parkway Slide Guard is a recent (as of Sept 09) replacement for the old Britax Parkway Booster. While a new design it roughly about the same size as the old Parkway Booster, sitting just an inch or two taller. In most ways it is a normal booster: it elevates the child so that your car's lap and shoulder belt fit correctly. Like most high end boosters it includes energy absorbing foam and the design helps stabilize the head and spine during a collision reducing the chance of injury. Where it differs from the old Parkway and the competition is the "Slide Guard" - a clip that sits between the legs that turns your standard three-point seatbelt into a four-point seatbelt. Your regular lap belt just threads into the clip (something you or your child must do each time they buckle up). The point is to keep children from sliding under the lap belt in a crash (this happens a lot and can result in abdominal injuries). This is a feature you won't find in the top rated (by Consumer Reports) Graco Turbobooster or the Recaro Start and to me it is the main selling point (CR doesn't have a review for the Britax yet). It has a downside in that it's slightly more complicated than a normal seatbelt. Older children won't have trouble with this but younger children will need some help.
I love it: I had no trouble with installing it, or getting my son strapped in. He's not quite old enough to be trusted with getting it on correctly so it takes a little more time to get him in his seat properly. If you've got a lot of kids to get into car seats this could be a deal breaker for you. If you have a smaller child or one who slouches down in their seat, the additional harness connect could be a life saver.
Here are the basic specs:
*Weight range: 40 120-pounds
*Height range: 38"-63"
*Armrests (note that they are fixed in place and can't be adjusted)
*Headrest helps support the head and neck during a crach
*Narrow Footprint allows for 3-across seating in some cars
*Removable back converts to a backless booster
*Cup Holders on each side
*Color-Coded Vehicle Belt Guides indicate the path and positioning of the vehicle seat belt
*High Density Comfort Foam provides an extra layer of padding to gently cushion the child
*Energy-Absorbing Foam Liner (EPS) absorbs and distributes crash forces
You can get this information and see videos on the Britax web site. I'd suggest doing that before you buy since this isn't quite your typical design.
Great quality and safty November 22, 2009 Thorsten Mollmann (Southern California) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
Overall a great booster. I'm professional firefighter/paramedic and have unfortunately seen more than my share of car accidents with children in the car. There are other seats out there, but none in my opinion are as safe as the Britax or maybe Sunshine Kids seats. My kids love this new Parkway because its comfortable. I like it because it's safe and it's Made in USA.
Why a parent would put the most valuable thing in their life (their children) in a cheep Chinese car seat that makes the C- government standard instead of the A+ standard (Britax) in beyond me. Most seats out there meet the "minimum standard", but "minimum" and "safety" just don't go together in my opinion. Spend the few extra bucks for real safety for your kids. I do, and I sleep better for it.
4 year old loves it September 3, 2009 R. Ferguson (CA USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
We have always bought Britax car seats due to their safety ratings and comfort. Both of our kids have had no problems sleeping for hours in Britax seats and this one is no different. We were about to buy the Graco version, but at the last minute found this one online. Two key features for us were the catch that prevents "submarining" (the child going under the lap belt in an accident) and the way the removable top section attaches to the bottom. It attaches much more securely than the Graco. After about 3 months of use, this has been a fantastic seat for our 4 year old.
A Parents Review February 14, 2010 Mama (Maryland) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Like many parents, we spent a lot of time looking at products and reviews to find the right booster seat for our 4YR-old. Frankly, we were overwhelmed with the research after a while and we purchased the Britax Parkway SG as a seemingly good choice among numerous good options. After a few months of use, we've found the Parkway SG booster to be light weight but sturdy, easily installed and adjustable, and most importantly, we feel our child is comfortable, safe and secure. The booster's materials are top notch and easily cleaned. Our daughter loves it and she is enjoys her time in the car a great deal more! We are happy to recommend the Britax Parkway SG and hope others find it a gratifying solution.
Safe booster November 16, 2009 E. Ballard (Somewhere out WEST) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I just bought this booster a few weeks ago, and I am very happy with my purchase. My older child graduated from the Britax Monarch to this Parkway, and my younger child graduated from the Britax Boulevard to the Monarch. The fabric on the Parkway is far superior to the Monarch. It will be so much easier to clean! The Parkway is much narrower than the Monarch, so it will be easier to buckle the seat belt. The cup holders have a better placement and actually retract completely, unlike the Monarch. The only feature I can see that the Monarch had that the Parkway is missing is the expandable base, but I have slim children and was more concerned about space, so I do not miss that feature at all. My daughter seems to like the Slide Guard.
Maybe I didn't do my homework, but I was surprised to see that the weight requirement for the Parkway SG is 40 lbs. as opposed to 30 lbs. for the Monarch. I initially thought I would have my younger child use the new Parkway (because of the Slide Guard) and keep my older child in the Monarch, but ended up switching because of the weight recommendations.
