A MUST When Flying With Little Ones! March 12, 2010 S Fisher (Denver, CO) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We used two Airplays when traveling to Chicago with 10 month twins. They were lifesavers! The Airplays provided a clean surface for the kids to play on and the tray tables had no problem closing in the up position. The zipper and velcro toys kept the little ones busy for a long time. We also inserted pictures of the family members we were going to visit in the small photo album so that the kids could look through them. It sure beat the craziness of having to rely on loose toys during a flight. I highly recommend this product for anyone flying with babies or toddlers! Great idea!
Great Product April 3, 2010 Jared Pedersen 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We recently purchased Air Play for our 6 month old before a trip. She absolutely loved it! It kept her very entertained and made our flight so much easier. She enjoyed all the different toys on both sides of entertainment center. It's very compact and easy to bring along. This is a must for any traveling family!
Great Product! April 26, 2010 J. Adams We purchased this product to use on our recent 8 hour trip to Kauai. We were traveling with a 5 year old, a 3 year old and a 17 month old. I was quite concerned with having enough items to keep them occupied throughout the trip. We used the Air Play first and it was the only toy we had out the whole trip! My 17 month old child played with this product non-stop and got upset when we had to put it away for landing! I have read some of the reviews that the tray would not close, but we did not have that problem. It didn't matter anyways since we took it out once we were airborne and began to pack it up before we landed.
The product is very durable and is made out of a heavy denim type of fabric. The sewing is high quality and I know that this will last for a long time due to the way that it has been made. This is a first class product at a great price! For any parent who is out there thinking about a toy to travel with, this is the only one I recommend. No more waiting at the security line to get your DVD player inspected and x-rayed, this is a breeze to pack and keeps their attention. Plus it is much better to have them playing with this rather than stuck in front of a DVD movie. I hope the manufacturer continues to come out with more high quality products such as this. All I can say is thanks for making our travels so easy.
Well-made product, doesn't work perfectly March 9, 2010 Lit Lover (Phoenix, AZ) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
Probably like a lot of parents, I sought out this product after seeing an ad for it in a popular parenting magazine. At the time that I ordered it, I couldn't find a single review for it online, and very few details about it, so I will try to be as complete as possible here.
Materials:
It's difficult to tell from the photos, but the Air Play is a heavyweight denim material, very durable. The sewn parts and seams are tight and it is well-made. A long strip of velcro runs along the open part of the sleeve. When not in use, the product folds inside out and in half and there are two nylon carrying handles, so it can actually be carried in your hand or over your shoulder--this was a pleasant surprise that I hadn't seen mentioned anywhere and makes the product far more handy in my opinion.
Toys:
On one side, there is a large button with attached flower, an oversized zipper, a buckle, a crinkle strip with a velcro squeaky toy in a pocket, and a pocket with 3 velcro shapes on it.
On the other side, there is a string with 4 waffle balls, a net pocket with a soft plush rattle dog in it, a photo album with room for 4 photos, and a flap with a mirror beneath it and a velcro star attached to the flap.
Experience:
I purchased this product for a plane trip with my 9 month old daughter. She traveled on my lap, so I wanted her to stay happy! As has been mentioned by another reviewer, even with the velcro toys detached, the tray table will not close with Air Play on it, despite this being one of its intended purposes--the zipper and buckle stick out too far and most tray tables fasten too tightly to the seat back. That said, I still found the product to be invaluable. I simply flipped it over when she seemed to be tiring of one side. Her favorite toys were the buckle and photo album.
After reaching our destination, I also used Air Play to keep her entertained during an hour-long church service, so parents looking for a quiet activity station for their youngsters should consider this product.
Air Play keeps my daughter entertained for fairly long stretches of time, but I tried it out with my friend's 18-month old and he tired of it quickly, so I think it's more suited to younger infants/toddlers.
All in all, I am pleased with the product--my one criticism being that I can't leave it on during take-off and landing when the tray table has to be up.
UPDATE (6/23/2010): My daughter is now 13 months and we've used this on many airlines--American, United, Allegiant, and US Airways, and the only tray table that would close with Air Play on it was on US Airways. Still, she likes playing with it and I just put it away for take off and landing or let her play with it in her lap at that time.
It helps!! July 30, 2010 Ang This product kept my 11mo old sons attention for a while. There are three pieces that only velcro on so when he pulled them off and dropped them I kept having to pick them up off the floor and couldn't find it until I could get up and look under the seat so..yea alittle bit of a pain for the parents but o well when you have a child you will try anything when you have them on a plane and you try to keep there attention. I do think it was worth the money even told my sister in law she should get it.
